Re-cut the stems about 2 inches underwater using a sharp knife. water movement up the stem is critical to the quality and lasting characteristics of fresh flowers and roses. By cutting stems under water, the stem is sealed with water and air is not permitted to clog the stem cells.
If foam is used, make sure it is saturated with water.
Wash vase clean. Always use fresh warm water (about 100 degrees).
A floral preservative mixed in with the water is always recommended.
When you place the flowers in the vase, make sure no foliage is below the water line.
Always keep flowers away from excessive heat or cold.
